Robert SorrellοƵ latest book on the Tri-Cities and the surrounding mountainous region is now out in area bookstores. The book is entitled Secret Appalachian Highlands: A guide to the Weird, Wonderful and Obscure.

Sorrell knows the region very well and the seven books he has written are all about the region and its people. He is a 2007 graduate of East Tennessee State University and has worked as a journalist at the Erwin Record, the Elizabethton Star and the Bristol Herald-Courier. His books include Images of America: Roan Mountain; Blue Ridge Firetowers; Historic Homes of Northeast Tennessee; Kenneth Potter: True Stores of a Criminal Investigator; The Story of Becoming Piney Flats; and Roan Mountain Scrapbook.
